☕ THE POUR — The hammer printed. The ladder didn't move.
Sunday's question was whether the Mew bid would turn into a real number. It did.
The Southern Islands Mew PSA 10 hammered at $700,000 on Fanatics Collect — $840,000 with buyer's premium, 32 bids, closed about 8:43pm PT Sunday. That's $150K above Saturday's bid and $50K above Sunday morning's.
For scale: the last PSA 10 public sale was $140,000 on eBay in May. A PSA 10 sold on Fanatics for $24,000 in June 2025. And the PSA 10 Gold Star Mew that sold for $391,782 on Sept. 25, which Men's Journal called the priciest Mew ever, just got more than doubled. PSA 10 pop: 20.
Now look one rung down. eBay solds have raw at about $645 and PSA 9 at about $6,363. An $840K 10 didn't change either one overnight.
Same story in Riftbound. The Radiance Ultimate Rare face, which we'd been waiting on for Monday, actually showed up Friday night: Packed Amphitheater, a Battlefield, not a champion. Booster Display Market slid to $213.95 (from $227.19 Saturday), with the cheapest listing at $185, while Game Nerdz still holds $129.97.
Takeaway: One trophy sale is a headline, not a price guide. The chase card sets the ceiling. It doesn't hold up the floor.

The split is getting louder. DoubleHolo's Sunday brief has 30th Celebration at 1.76× pack EV while Journey Together sits at 0.69×. Old, scarce cards keep getting bought, and new rip product doesn't.
Collector and Play are moving in opposite directions. RF Collector $456.50 is the lowest we've tracked, while Play firmed to $150.52.
Delta Reign prerelease promos are out. Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus and Kommo-o come in Build & Battle Boxes starting Oct 24. The PC Exclusive ETB still sits at $531.63 with only 4 listings.

🔬 THE DEEP CUT — The grade ladder doesn't hear the gavel.
A pop-20 PSA 10 selling for $840K tells you there were two very rich bidders on Sunday night. It doesn't tell you what the next PSA 9 or raw copy is worth. Those prices come from thousands of eBay sales, not from one auction, and they didn't move overnight.
The trap is the grading math. A $645 raw copy only reaches the trophy tier if it comes back a 10, and only 20 have so far. Miss by one grade and you're holding a ~$6.3K card you paid trophy-headline prices to chase.
Radiance just taught the same lesson for sealed. Riot made the chase rarer (1 in about 4,000 packs), but the card turned out to be a Battlefield, and boxes slid toward $214 with listings down to $185. Rarity alone isn't demand.
Takeaway: Price the rung you're actually buying, not the record above it.
Action: Ignore the $840K for anything below a PSA 10, and don't buy raw Southern Islands Mew to grade off this headline. Wait on Radiance above the ~$130 store price. Wait on RF Collector for a real sub-$450 print. Buy RF Play only under pack math (~$165) at your LGS. Buy 30th Bundles at shelf MSRP. Wait on the Delta Reign PC ETB.
Takeaway: Price the rung you're actually buying, not the record above it.
